What I Do
I look at what makes Cisco Investments and our investment portfolio unique. I look for trends emerging from the startup landscape and how they fit into the bigger picture. I take these observations and create stories highlighting how Cisco works with startups.
What I’m Passionate About
I’m passionate about storytelling. The expression of words to tell a story is basic human interaction. The only reason we know about the past, is because of the stories and the words that were used to tell us about it. Storytelling, even about technology, is one of the most important things that we do, as humans.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy being dad. My wife and I share two wonderful children together. Spending time with them brings me more joy than anything else. From the little things like eating together as a family to the big things like a trip to Disney World, I love creating memories that eventually tell my family’s story.
Buon cibo. Buon vino. Buon amici. Good food. Good wine. Good Friends. I grew up learning to cook from my grandmother and my parents. Now, few things make me happier than hosting family and friends and gathering together around a table for a big meal.
Where I’ve Been
I started my career as a television news producer. Storytelling is really all I’ve ever wanted to do. When it became obvious that a career in news was not conducive to having a family, I made a change to corporate communications. Along the way, I’ve managed communications and told stories for a non-profit economic development group and a series of clients across agriculture, construction, private aviation, and utility infrastructure companies. When I joined Cisco in 2020, I help lead storytelling efforts across several of our priority industries.
Where I Learned
I earned a B.A. from High Point University, majoring in Communication with a concentration in journalism. HPU has an extraordinary experiential learning program, bringing students real-world experience outside of the four walls of the classroom. As a journalism student, I had opportunities to anchor our campus news program, and manage a beat that led to me covering real-time stories in the broader High Point community.
