Becca Brett Leish
Executive Communications Manager
"The best outcomes come from being upfront and clear with people, staying curious and open in how I communicate, and giving ideas the time they need to land well."
What I Do
I help shape and amplify the voice of Cisco Investments & Corporate Development (I&CD), a group dedicated to driving Cisco's long-term growth strategy through strategic venture capital investments and acquisitions.
What I’m Passionate About
Collaboration is what I enjoy most about my work. I love bringing people together and hearing different perspectives and insights. It's amazing how much stronger the end product becomes when you let good ideas from across a team shape the work.
Transparency, communication, and patience are the values that drive me every day, both in how I show up for my team and how I approach the work itself.
Staying active is how I like to spend my free time. It's good for the mind and the body. You'll usually find me on the pickleball court or in a hot yoga sculpt class (it keeps my head right and gets a great sweat in).
Outside of that, I unwind with sewing and upcycling apparel, playing mahjong, and always have a book going.
Where I’ve Been
My career in comms began at Edelman, a global PR firm, supporting NCR Corporation's retail solutions group during a period of rapid change in grocery scanning technology. Leading communications for "Scanniversary," which celebrated a major milestone in the history of the barcode scanner, showed me the tangible impact of innovation and where my real strength lies: the strategic communication needed to articulate its value.
Where I've Learned
I graduated from Emory University in Atlanta.
